Carol Carver holds a degree in church music and organ performance from Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill. During her undergraduate years she studied with organist Helmut Walcha at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt, Germany. She has done graduate study at the University of Minnesota in theater and organ and has studied choral conducting with many of the world’s renowned choral directors, including David Willcocks, Jon Washburn, John Rutter and Eric Ericsson.
As director of worship and music at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater, Carol creates weekly and festival worship for this ELCA congregation of 4,000 members. She also directs a 45-voiced mixed choir and a choir for young women that has made numerous recordings for Augsburg Fortress. In addition, she oversees the environmental arts, fine arts and a concert series featuring more than 30 events per season.
Carol is the acquisitions editor in worship and music for Augsburg Fortress Publishers. In this role she has developed choral music for choirs and ensembles throughout the church. She has led numerous workshops for ALCM, FUMMWA and the AGO.
In August 2010, Carol received the A.C.E. (Advocate of Choral Excellence) award from the Minnesota chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
