The Valley Chamber Chorale announces the formation of the VCC Commissioning Society. The Society and Chorale will commission new music to be performed at concerts in the St. Croix Valley.
Over the last several years, the Chorale has successfully commissioned new works by Stephen Paulus, John Leavitt, Jeannie Brindley-Barnett, and other fine composers. Together the Society and the Chorale will continue this creative process by commissioning new music to be enjoyed by VCC audiences in the years to come. In fact, the Society's first project - a piece written by Phil Kadidlo for our Spring 2002 Cabaret concert - was a great success.
Since the Renaissance, patronage of the arts has evolved from the monarchy, to the church, the nobility and the wealthy, and now to all lovers of art and music. So you too can participate in the creation of new music for the 21st century by becoming a member of the Society. To become a member we ask for your tax deductible contribution of $500 or more, payable to the Valley Chamber Chorale. All commissioning funds provided by the Society members will be used solely for commissions and not for other expenses. If you are a member of the Society, with your permission we will prominently list your name in our concert programs.
We sincerely hope that you will join us in this exciting venture. If you have any questions about our commissioning program please contact the Valley Chamber Chorale at 651-430-0124 or email us. |
