2005-2006 Concert Season

As this lovely season permeates the Valley we invite you to join us for a concert of gentle, gracious and inspiring music. We will warm the season with the lyric sounds of choir, harp and oboe. We will charm you with the familiar and surprise you with the new.

Let the evening of music and celebration feast your heart, your ears, your eyes and your palate. We know there is something very special about sitting at a round table with family and friends as candles glow and spirits rise in response to all the beauty within reach that is almost priceless. We like to think of this as one of the honored traditions of the season -- but a tradition that is ever changing and new.

Love in the Wintertime

What better way to celebrate love than an evening with the Valley Chamber Chorale and accordionist Mark Stillman. Yes, you did read that correctly - accordion! You have waited 30 years, but finally we have found the best in the business and he is joining us for this wild, wacky, and whimsical celebration of love.

Mark has played his accordion with the likes of the Minnesota Orchestra and epitomizes all that is so engaging about the instrument. As if that were not enough to entice you into the warm surrounds of the Washington County Historic Courthouse, we promise you new songs of love from composer John Helgen, who writes in a style that is engaging, lyric and accessible.

Remember, you can sit with your favorite squeeze as well as eight other like-minded music lovers, and feed on the foods of love as you indulge in the music of love.

Who better to throw a birthday celebration for than Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Truly, if we all listed our favorite composers, he would be in everyone's top 10. In that we will be celebrating just after Easter, we have programmed music that is festive, and ever fresh including the "Coronation Mass" and the motet for soprano, "Exultate Jubilate."

We are thrilled to present in this concert four of the brightest young stars on the Minnesota music scene: Tracey Gorman, KrisAnne Weiss, Theodore Chletsos , and Jeff Madison. The four studied together as graduate students at the University of Minnesota and are now pursuing their respective careers as vocal soloists and teachers. Through the years the Valley Chamber Chorale has proudly presented new talent, and this group is beyond compare.

Joining us will be a full orchestra and we will be at the stunning and acoustically excellent venue of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater. It will be an electrifying April evening when all is sung and done.
