| In the Darkness - Light December 7, 8, and 9, 2001 Washington County Historic Courthouse Stillwater, MN |
With this concert we bring you a truly unique experience, one only the Valley Chamber Chorale can create with such elegance, beauty and charm. Our music is from that corner of the world deep in December darkness- Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - places that need the brightness of candles, music and dancing to make it through the long winter nights. We will sing of the Light of the World with traditional carol settings as well as wonderful new holiday offerings. For this concert we will be joined by the talents of charming folk-artists David Livingston on recorder, John Helgen on piano and violinist, Margaret Humphrey. This concert traditionally is a sell-out, so gather friends and family to spend an afternoon or evening sharing the warmth of the season with the Chorale. Seating will be at tables for ten and refreshments will surely reflect traditions as unique as the music. |

| In Springtime April 26, 27, and 28, 2002 Washington County Historic Courthouse Stillwater, MN |
In celebration of the welcome return of springtime to Minnesota, the Valley Chamber Chorale presents a concert of all that is light, bright and true. Known for bringing all that is good in choral music to light, the Chorale will again uphold that tradition with songs that are dramatic, whimsical, awesome and fanciful. Also known for an ongoing mission of commissioning new choral works, the Chorale is especially delighted to premiere at these concerts a new work for choir and jazz quartet by Stillwater composer, Phil Kadidlo. For a number of years Phil Kadidlo has joined with Dave Hansel and Bill Chouinard to accompany the Chorale in jazz and pop works - always adding just the right amount of charm and humor to keep us all on edge. Now Phil will take the spotlight and treat us to a major new choral work - incorporating the jazz quartet and all their possibilities. Refreshments will most certainly be light and fat-free, yet always filling; seating will be at tables of ten friendly, humorous Valley Chamber Chorale fans. Don't miss it! |
